PrimeWhip Food-Grade Cream Charger XL 2000G Saturn (Unflavored)

Kitchens that flavour their own bases want the gas to stay out of the way, and the XL Saturn is the version of this cylinder with nothing added to it. Two kilos of food-grade nitrous oxide at a stated 99.95% purity, neutral in smell and taste, sitting in a leak-proof body with a fill checked before dispatch. It is the highest-volume neutral option PrimeWhip lists below the 3000g, and it needs a pressure regulator to reach a siphon.

Standardising a neutral gas across a contract catering group

A contract caterer running the same recipes across several client sites usually wants one neutral gas specification rather than a different flavoured cylinder per location. The unflavoured 2000g Saturn roughly three times the fill of the 640g and about six times the 320g gives that kind of operation a single, bulk, neutral supply that can be split across sites without any aroma variation between them.

It is the largest neutral option below the 3000g XXL, which suits a group of several mid-sized sites rather than one very large single kitchen.

Because the fill carries no aroma, splitting gas from one cylinder across sites serving different cuisines carries no risk of one site's dish picking up a note meant for another.

Fitment and compatibility

As with every size in the range, it connects through a pressure regulator fitted to the cylinder neck rather than a charger holder, feeding a standard whipping siphon. One regulator design covers every Saturn cylinder size, regardless of site.

That consistency means a caterer's kitchen staff moving between sites don't need to learn a different setup depending on which Saturn cylinder happens to be in stock there.

Storage and handling

Because of the weight, keep the cylinder upright on the floor or a low, stable surface in a cool dry area away from direct heat and cooking equipment, rather than on a high shelf.
